PSY621 Introduction to Forensic Psychology
This course provides an overview of the field of forensicpsychology, its history and impact in today’s world.The focus ison the relationship between law and psychology, the mentalhealth system,mental illness and criminal conduct. It alsofocuses on discussion of the ethical and legal conflicts anddilemmas a forensic practitioner might encounter workingwithin the legal system.Ways to resolve such conflict, includingstandards applicable to the science and practice of forensicpsychology and the role of the expert and fact witness outside ofthe clinical realm, are considered.
