NURS612 Health Policy and Advocacy
This course provides an understanding of the application of social justice principles in health care delivery systems. The focus is on analysis of health care policy, financing, socio-political trends, ethical, and professional issues. The impact of policy making and the political process on the practice of nursing and on health care delivery system is explored. Students discover opportunities that affect positive social change within the healthcare delivery environment in the roles of change agent and nurse. Course outcomes employ advocacy strategies to influence health and health care.
