A study of counseling as a formof professional assistance inproblems of development and adjustment. Provides the basicskills necessary for effective interaction and communication in avariety of situations,with the emphasis on individual counseling.Includes practical experiences such as role playing,audiotaping,and videotaping, critiquing, and test interpretation. Research onthe effectiveness of techniques andmodels of counseling will beemphasized.Prerequisite: PSY 633.
