PSY710 Advanced Psychometrics
This courses involves training in the administration, scoring, interpretation and reporting of the most commonly used instruments for measuring cognitive ability and intelligence of children and adults. Students will develop a thorough understanding of psychometrics including test construction, reliability, validity, bias, group norms, standardization and item analysis. The impact of culture on cognitive assessment as well as legal and ethical issues pertaining to assessment will be examined. The developement of rapport, interviewing skills, and structured history-taking will also be covered.
