ED220 Curriculum Strategies in the Inclusive Classroom

This course will help students develop knowledge and skill in the selection and use of materials and teaching techniques appropriate for students with disabilities in early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school inclusive educational settings. Focusing on the academic, social, and adaptive domains class instruction is designed to provide the student with a repertoire of strategies and materials essential to effective collaborative instruction in inclusive settings and to facilitate a co-teaching philosophy for elementary and secondary educators who are responsible for educating diverse students in the general education classroom. Special attention is paid to the teaching areas covered by the NJ endorsement in teaching students with disabilities. Ten (10) hours of clinical experience is required. Pre-requisites: ED 101, ED 105, PSY 251 or special permission of the Education Chairperson.
