ED330 Literacy in Content Areas, Curricula K -12
This course supports pre-service teachers in integrating theoretical and practical approaches for teaching all learners. It enables pre-service teachers to use integrated language skills to improve learning in the content areas. Students review current topics in literacy, teaching and planning strategies, and the use of technology which will enable them to work with learners to improve literacy skills. The edTPA lesson plan format will be utilized. Ten (10) hours of supervised clinical experience is required. Students need to provide their own transportation to their clinical setting(s). The instructor will distribute a Disposition Survey for the students to complete. The completion of the Disposition Survey is a mandatory requirement for the course. Submission of the survey will be to the Academic Coordinator. Pre-requisites: ED 101, ED 200, and Junior Education Status. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
