Those students not seeking an endorsement in Special Education will be placed in an Early Childhood or Elementary, or Elementary/Middle School Math or Science, or Secondary setting (480 to 525 hours of clinical practice total). Students spend time observing, participating, and teaching under the direction of an effective or highly effective cooperating teacher, as well as a clinical supervisor from SEU. Advisors’ approvals indicate that clinical interns have completed all courses and incomplete grades by the end of the semester directly preceding clinical practice. Clinical interns are responsible for their own transportation to their clinical practice setting. Prerequisite: Passing score on identified PRAXIS exam(s). Completion of all course requirements in all education programs, liberal arts majors and general education liberal arts core must occur before the full-time clinical practice semester.
