NURS203 Informatics in Nursing 3 credits (3, 0, 0)Nursing informatics is a combination of computer science, information science, and nursing science. The goal of this course is to examine the student’s basic computer skills, informatics knowledge, and informational literacy. The students will be assisted in learning the process of the management of nursing data and the knowledge to support the practice of nursing through communication. The course also introduces students to how information is used in organizations and how information technology enables improvement in quality and timeliness of information..• Pre-requisites: BIO 121, BIO 123. CHEM 121, PSY 200, NURS 101, NURS 201 • Pre- Co-requisites: BIO 209, BIO 209L, BIO 301, MATH 119• Co-requisite: NURS202, NURS 204 GPA 2.3• 15 week course, 3 hours theory per week
