NURS 404 Nursing Care Provider III - Acute and Chronic Illness of the Adult 6 credits (3, 0, 3)This course prepares students for independence in nursing and for collaborative interdisciplinary work in acute care settings. Clinical experiences will emphasize outcomes of care that will maximize health management and reduce risks of complications through patient teaching, discharge planning, and safe nursing care. Students synthesize knowledge and apply evidence-based practice in the care and management of patients with multiple complex health conditions. The focus of this course is on caring for patients with limitations in their ability to function due to physical, mental, and psychosocial challenges. • Pre-requisites: BIO 121, BIO 123.
