EDAS746 Summer Seminar: Writing Literature Reviews

This hybrid course will provide an opportunity for students to create and defend a conceptual rationale for their dissertation as well as to synthesize pertinent literature and research applicable to the major concepts and constructs of their study. Students will receive daily advisement from their advisors and readers. Emphasis will be placed on important aspects of scholarly writing including proper attribution, synthesizing research, use of active voice, appropriate transitions and application of the APA Style Manual. Instructional strategies will include presentations on critical attributes of Chapter 2, independent research by doctoral candidates, individual advisement, problem-solving and student presentations. By the end of the course, students will submit a complete draft of Chapter 2.
