ED607 Clinical Practice Seminar I
During this seminar, clinical interns will complete one semester of part-time clinical practice in an assigned K-12 school setting for a total of 175 hours under the guidance and supervision of an effective or highly effective cooperating teacher in their licensure area. Clinical interns will deliver a minimum of three formal lessons utilizing the edTPA lesson plan format to be evaluated by an assigned clinical supervisor, as well as their cooperating teacher. The purpose of this seminar is to assist teacher candidates in preparing for their full-time clinical practice the following semester through the discussion of best practices during seminars, as well as guided and authentic teaching opportunities during field work. Interns will be provided with an introduction to the teacher performance assessment that is completed at the end of their full-time clinical practice semester. The instructor will distribute a Disposition Survey for the students. The completion of the Disposition Survey is a mandatory requirement for the course. Submission of the survey will be to the Academic Coordinator. Pre-requisites: ED 601, ED 603, PSY 606 and ED 665. Co-requisites: ED 605 and ED 651 or ED 681 or ED 510.
