GS253 World Culture Studies
This course provides a study of world cultures and the system of global interdependence. It explores common roots of culture as well as distinctive cultural characteristics. Minority/majority relations, role of geography, cooperation and conflict, and human rights issues in history are examined. A case study approach includes focus on the Holocaust. Students are afforded opportunities to recognize the impact of geography on world cultures and current global issues. Satisfies Cluster 5 General Education requirement.
