JUS341 Women & the Law
This course examines the status of women under American law, both historically and in a contemporary context. Topics reviewed include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, workplace issues as they affect women, significant case law relating to women, and otherlegal issues of concern to women. The opportunities available for women in today's legal profession are also discussed. This course also explores important legal issues and principles pertaining to family life and the family unit. Parental rights and responsibilities, children's rights, divorce, child custody, and adoption are among the subjects considered.
