NURS600 Ethics and Nursing Practice
This course focuses on the examination of ethical decision-making in practice. The emphasis is on values clarification, ethical theory, ethical decision-making models, and professional ethical standards. Students are encouraged to clarify their personal ethic with regard to their professional role. Discussion of the importance of the ethical obligations of professional nurses in their roles as citizens, members of a profession, providers of care, and designers and managers of care is addressed.
