PA603 Physiology, Pathophysiology & Genetics One

The two foundational courses in physiology, pathophysiology and genetics provide the student with the knowledge of the mechanisms by which the body functions and the application of those principles to the etiology, management, and prevention of human disease. Normal function, regulation, and genetic principles are reviewed using a systems approach; with exploration of pathophysiologic and genetic alterations and their relationship to clinical patient care. In addition to introductory concepts, the focus of this first course is on cellular processes, and the neuromuscular, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Pre-requisite: Matriculation into the PA Program; co-requisite: PA 601 Human Anatomy One
