PA611 Foundations of PA Practice

This introductory course provides an orientation to the role of the physician assistant (PA) student and clinically practicing PA and is the first course in a series designed to address the professional and practical aspects of PA clinical practice. Emphasis of this course is on the history and development of the profession and current trends in PA practice and healthcare in general. Concepts of professionalism, appropriate conduct, personal and professional growth and development are introduced. The student is provided with the tools and resources to address personal, academic and professional needs and concerns to achieve success in the transition to the academic PA Program environment. Pre-requisite: Matriculation into the PA Program
