PA662 Research Methods

During this second course of the research series, the student will further explore topics in health science research and principles of biostatistics. Students will be placed in groups with a faculty advisor to develop a research proposal suitable for IRB submission. Problem finding, formulation of a research question, research methodology, design and data collection and interpretation will be addressed. Ethical considerations in research will be discussed. Published research articles will be critically analyzed.At the conclusion of the course, the student will complete a literature review and prepare a research proposal to address the gaps in the literature.Pre-requisite: PA 661 Epidemiology and Principles of Evidence Based Medicine
