PA687 SCPE Core Emergency Medicine

This supervised clinical practice experience provides the student with practical experience in the care of patients in the emergency setting. Under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, the student will apply knowledge gained in the didactic phase to actual care of patients as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team. The emphasis of this experience is on the coordination and collaboration of medical and surgical care in the emergency setting. The student will become familiar in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the patient while taking into consideration the additional concerns of the patient presenting with an emergency condition.Prerequisite: Successful completion of either PA 681 SCPE Core Internal Medicine or PA 682 SCPE Core Family Medicine
