PSY704 Cognitive and Affective Aspects of Behavior

This course will explore theoretical and empirical research related to cognitive and affective aspects of behavior. Cognitive topics include memory, attention, perception, problem solving, and language. Affective topics include affect, mood, and emotion. The cognitive and affective topics will lead to an understanding of the connection and integration of the two, including topics such as the cognitive regulation of emotion. Topics will be presented in the overall context of learning theory and affect regulation and emphasis will be placed on how they can be applied to psychotherapy.
