PSY710 Advanced Psychometrics

Students will develop a thorough understanding of psychological measurement theory and techniques. Concepts include reliability, validity, utility, error, bias, group norms, standardization, and item analysis, Principles and practices in test construction, use and evaluation will also be covered. Course content will explore clinical applications, such as the measurement of intelligence, psychopathology and personality. Class discussion centers on the ethical use of psychometrics, forensic assessment, and controversies within this field of study.
