''War, good God y'all, what is it good for?'' Motown artist Edwin Starr asked this question and answered emphatically, ''Absolutely nothing!'' The east coast rapper Notorious B.I.G said that ''mo money'' meant ''mo problems''. The rap trio Salt-N-Pepa said it was a good idea to talk about sex. In 'The Lion King', Mufasa praised the ''circle of life'' and said that we all need to find our place within it. In this course, we'll draw upon Catholic Social Teaching to explore controversial topics such as abortion, racism, sexism, global warming, poverty, war, homosexuality, and other topics that frequently end friendships. The aim is to challenge ourselves to think critically about these topics and develop our own views in conversation with others who disagree with us.
