AHS200 Global Health and Cultural Perspective
This course is a comparative study of disease ecology and medical systems of other cultures. Students will become familiar with different health care systems around the world, the advantages and disadvantages of each health system, and the history of those systems to better understand the present state and status of health. Through vignettes and cases, students will analyze the roles of culture, cultural humility, and cultural competency including ideas, values, opinions, and beliefs of people of diverse cultures, religions, sexualities, and gender within their geographical and geopolitical contexts.
