COMM304 Sports Media

This course examines different forms of sports media, including print, broadcast, live streaming, and social media, and their impact on sports. Students study the history of sports broadcasting and sports media partnerships and analyze industry trends. They will be exposed to the opportunities and constraints posed by the distinct roles of reporters, fans, players, publicists, agents, team, and league officials. Students learn the fundamentals of various components of sports media, such as writing game and feature stories, writing strategies for broadcast, live streaming, shooting on location, anchoring and play-by-play, and production of the various forms of sports media.
