FN210 Basic Human Nutrition
Students study the essential nutrients, the physiologic processes of digestion, absorption, and metabolism, and the nutritional requirements for the adult. Discussion of nutrition related to fitness and major health diseases/disorders is included. Students gain basic skills in nutritional assessment, computations, nutrient analysis, and meal management concepts for individuals and groups. Critical reading of the literature is introduced (3 Credits; Offered fall and spring semesters, and summer as needed; Prerequisites: None).
