MUS151 The Broadway Musical
Examination of the Broadway musical from its roots in colonial America, through the minstrel and vaudeville shows of the nineteenth century, the imported operettas of the early twentieth century, and the musical comedies of the twenties and thirties that developed on Broadway. Videos and DVDs of performances will be studied, and attendance at a musical is required. Satisfies Cluster 1 General Education requirement.
