PA624 Patient Evaluation and the Impact of Social Determinants of Health

This is the final course of a four-course series designed to enable the student to effectively and respectfully evaluate patients and focuses on adjustment of patient assessment techniques and procedures as they are performed in the emergency medicine, surgery, critical care, rehabilitation medicine, occupational medicine, pain management and hospice care settings. The impact of social determinants of health and psychosocial issues on the overall health and wellness of patients and communities are discussed. Lecture with small group laboratory instruction and practice are utilized as well as encounters with patients in the clinical setting.
