PA633 Clinical Medicine Three

The third course in the clinical medicine series is designed to provide the student with a body-system approach to diseases encountered in the practice of medicine within specific healthcare disciplines and settings and include emergency medicine, surgery, critical care, rehabilitation medicine, occupational medicine, pain management and hospice care. Disease presentation, differential diagnosis, diagnostic studies and treatment options germane to the setting and patient population will be addressed. Inclusion of the patient, family and other members of the healthcare team in the decision-making process will be stressed. Case presentations and simulation activities are used to allow the student to practice the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Prerequisite: PA 632 Clinical Medicine Two; Co-requisites: PA 643 Clinical Pharmacology Three; PA 624 Patient Evaluation and the Impact of Social Determinants of Health
