PA642 Clinical Pharmacology Two
The clinical pharmacology courses align with the topics in the respective clinical medicine courses and are designed to provide the student with an understanding of the major drug classes. Discussion of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics and clinical therapeutics within the context of providing safe and effective pharmacologic treatment of gastric, endocrine, GU, reproductive, renal, orthopedic, rheumatologic and psychiatric disorders will occur. Emphasis is placed on the practical application and evaluation of drug actions on the functions of various organ systems of the human body and proper adjustment of medication for pediatric, pregnant and geriatric patients. Practical experience with case presentations and medication prescribing is provided. Pre-requisite: PA 641 Clinical Pharmacology One; Co-requisites: PA 632 Clinical Medicine Two
