PA643 Clinical Pharmacology Three

The clinical pharmacology courses align with the topics in the respective clinical medicine courses and are designed to provide the student with an understanding of the major drug classes. Discussion of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics and clinical therapeutics within the context of providing safe and effective pharmacologic treatment options in specific healthcare disciplines and settings will occur. Emphasis is placed on the practical application and evaluation of drug actions on the functions of various organ systems of the human body and proper adjustment of medication for pediatric, pregnant and geriatric patients. Practical experience with case presentations and medication prescribing is provided. Pre-requisite: PA 642 Clinical Pharmacology Two; Co-requisite: PA 633 Clinical Medicine Three
