PSY641 Psychopathology & Diagnosis
An examination of abnormal behavior, including an introductionto the etiology,diagnosis, and treatment of psychological dysfunctioning.This course will be an in-depth analysis ofpsychopathologies as they relate to the use of current diagnosticsystems as a formulation for classification of disorders and choiceof appropriate treatment. The student will acquire a workingknowledge of the DSM, including itsmultiaxial classificationsystem, and will develop the ability to diagnose the variousmentaldisorders on the basis of a comprehensive diagnostic interview.No prerequisite required.
