REL115MP Introduction to Evangelization
This course presents a challenge to all baptized Christians to renew their conversion to Christ. It will examine and discuss significant contributions to defining Catholic evangelization, inluding; biblical warrants, church documents, papal teachingsm and select publications by Catholic scholars and ministry leaders. The course challenges Christians to move from fragmentation to unity; maintenance to mission; and rugged individualism to solidarity. A historic review of the development of Catholic evangelization, and Pope Benedict's continued teachings on the subject. Discussion of methods and programs for evangelization in parish ministry will also be explored, as well as how Catholics can evangelize in the daily activities of life, e.g., at home and in the market place.
