REL385 Ethics & Justice

This interdisciplinary course will address concepts in ethics from both theological and philosophical perspectives that are important to the practice of justice such as human dignity, human rights, the relationship between law and morality, and the distinction between morality and ethics. Theological andphilosophical theories of justice, concepts of law and justice such as due process, and the relationship between justice and ethics will be explored. Issues in ethics and justice will be examined such as civil disobedience, bias (such as gender and race) punishment and rehabilitation, and capital punishment.
