SEU391 Career Course: Experiential Learning Opportunity Preparation
This course is an internship preparatory course designed to help students locate an internship site and develop the basic skill set needed to succeed or excel in the workplace. In preparation for securing an internship, students will complete this required course (0 credit, Pass/Fail) in their junior or senior year during which they will identify potential internship placement sites and also review expectations for professional behavior and skills identified by employers as critical to successful workplace performance, which include, but are not limited to:1. Professional communication: Listening, speaking, and writing2. Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness3. Interpersonal skills4. Ethics and integrity5. Ability to accept and learn from constructive criticismStudents will be required to pass the class in order to register for an Experiential Learning Opportunity/Internship. This course will prepare students to enroll in an Experiential Learning Opportunity/Internship after securing a placement. Prerequisites: Second semester sophomore status or higher.
