ABA602 Research Methods and Measurement

This course provides students with the procedures for comprehensive observation and measurement of behavior. Students learn to identify dependent and independent variables, the relevant dependent measure for a behavior and the multitude of recording systems, defining essential indicators of sound measurement, identifying common threats to measurement and suggesting how to combat those occasions with best scientific practice. Students learn the procedures for assessing the accuracy, reliability and validity of behavioral measurement. Students collect data using behavior analytic measurement systems and also create their own measurement systems for a variety of learners.
