ART240 American Art
The history of American Art, 1600 to the present, will be explored and contextualized based on its Native American and European origins, internal developments and the influence of immigrant and world cultures. The focus will be 100 important works of American painting, sculpture, decorative arts, photography and architecture. Lectures, discussions, DVDs, library and website research, and gallery and museum visits provide insight into the topic.
