ART250 Artists in Film
Visual artists have often been the subject of documentaries as well as major motion pictures. In this course, films of both types will be studied to reveal the truth and myth-making that is conveyed about painters, sculptors, photographers and architects in a medium that owes much to the visual art it is studying. Films will be contextualized through lecture, discussion, DVDs, library and website research and gallery and museum visits.
