BUS229 Theories of Macro Economics
Theories of Macroeconomics is the concentrated study of economic theory at the macro level. The course examines topics such as competition in markets and industries to the workings of the national and global economy. New economic and political institutions, especially the role of government and financial markets are added. The Federal Reserve Bank is introduced and described. The determination of interest rates, exchange rates and monetary policy is explained. Fiscal versus monetary policy, balance of payment deficits, growth of an economy through time, inflation and unemployment topics are also examined. Prerequisite: BUS227 Theories of Microeconomics.
