CHEM121 Introduction to Chemistry

This course is an integrated approach to the basic concepts of chemistry. Through theory and practical application students will be introduced to such topics as atomic theory, bonding, stoichiometry, states of matter, kinetics, thermochemistry, solutions chemistry and acid-base chemistry. First hand knowledge will be gained via practical inquiry which employs tools such as spectroscopy, density and solution analysis. Class meets 6 hours per week for lecture/lab in the fall semester. 4crs. Satisfies Outcome 3 of the General Education Curriculum.
