ENG265 Studies in American Literature

An exploration of the literature of the United States, with special attention to the literary forms and movements of the last two-and-a-half centuries and an emphasis on the varieties of the American identity across race, class, gender, religion, culture, etc.. Students will engage in the analysis of literature as it relates to diverse sociocultural identities within the United States with reading selections from a diverse range of voices. 3 credits
