ESL600 Studies in Cross Cultural Communication
This course centers upon the study of world culture with particular attention to issues which hinder and facilitate respect and appreciation of diversity. Students will evaluate all cultures as equally valid and important contributors to our global society. There is a significant course focus on the role of American culture and American schools and academic mores on ELLs today. Strategies designed to promote achievement, communication, and belonging in students from non-English speaking societies will be evaluated and practiced.
