PSY623 Trauma & Crisis Intervention
This course addresses theories, research studies and assessmenttechniques relating to the various types of trauma such aschildhood abuse, combat experience, surviving a natural disasterand exposure to life-threatening incidents (such as those likelyexperience by victims of crime and law enforcement andemergency services personnel). Students will be taught crisisintervention techniques concerning the treatment of traumarelateddifficulties, acute stress and post-traumatic stressdisorder. Prerequisite: PSY 633.
