PSY626 Evaluation & Treatment of Juvenile Offenders

This course examines the psychological origins and dynamics ofcriminal behavior from the viewpoint of psychological theoriesand the psychological factors leading to the causes, assessment,classification and treatment of juvenile offenders. It explorespsychological theories elated to the etiology, development andprediction of juvenile delinquency and types of interventionpossible within the criminal justice setting.The role of theforensic specialist in the juvenile justice system will also beaddressed. Prerequisite: PSY 625.
