SLP100 Introduction to Communication Disorders
This course will provide an introduction to the various aspects of communication, including (a) speech, (b) language, and (c) hearing. Each topic unit is structured to first introduce the normal processes and theoretical concepts of the communication area. This is followed by information regarding the nature, assessment, and treatment of that communication area’s disorders. Be aware that this introductory course is a rigorous course that covers a wide range of material such as anatomy and physiology, linguistics, psychology, and the physics of sound. It is in your best interest to keep up with the material.
