JUS211 The Corrections System

This course surveys the principal issues, institutions, policies, and programs pertaining to the U.S. corrections system. Prison procedures, institutional treatment methods, prisoners' rights, parole, probation, community-based initiatives, and contemporary corrections innovations will be explored and evaluated. Restorative justice will be discussed. Prerequisite: JUS101
