MUS231 Opera & Oratorio

Survey of opera and oratorio literature based on the current New York repertoire. Videos, DVDs and recordings are used with each opera studied. Students study and attend a rehearsal of an opera at the Metropolitan Opera House or another venue. Attendance at a final production of an opera is also required. Open to all students. Satisfies Cluster 1 General Education requirement.
