Certificate in Cybersecurity in Counter Terrorism Operations

Program Overview

 

This 12-credit Certificate Program is designed for law enforcement professionals, equipping students with expertise in both counter terrorism and cyber security investigation. The program will cover critical areas of homeland security, cybercrime, digital evidence, and national security intelligence.

Students will learn from experienced professionals in the field and develop practical skills to address modern threats, including domestic and international terrorism, as well as cyber-related crimes and investigations.

The Program may be taken alone or as part of the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice or Master of Arts in Justice Administration and Public Service Programs.

Requirements

Required Courses (12 credits)

1. JUS650 Leadership in Justice Administration – 3 credits

   The planning and organizational strategies most applicable to leadership and supervisory functions in this field are examined. Relevant theoretical and research methods are studied with text-case examples.

2. JUS675 Cyber Crime, Security, and the Law – 3 credits
   Examination of legal frameworks and investigative techniques related to cybercrime and security threats, and an in-depth look at the operations and challenges of homeland security, with a focus on counter terrorism strategies.
3. JUS680 Investigation & Digital Evidence – 3 credits
   Focuses on investigative methods, digital forensics, and the handling of digital evidence in cyber security and criminal investigations.
4. JUS683 Special Topic: National Security Intelligence and Terrorism – 3 credits
   

   This course offers specialized knowledge in understanding domestic terrorism threats and analyzes intelligence related to national security.
