Accounting Concentration

The accounting Concentration is a 24-consecutive-month program (including winter and summer sessions) with a pathway to CPA certification. The concentration is primarily designed for Combined Degree Program students. However, an “alternate path” is available to non-associate degree continuing studies students who complete the prerequisites. Courses will be offered in hybrid, online and in-person formats.

Per state of New Jersey requirements, students in the accounting concentration who are seeking to become CPAs must complete 150 credit hours of education. Students should check certification requirements and plan accordingly. One option is for eligible students to join the Combined Degree Program: B.S. or B.A./M.S. in Management.

Combined Degree Program: B.S. or B.A./M.S. in Management

The Combined Degree Program enables highly motivated undergraduate students to transition into the graduate master’s program even while still completing the University’s baccalaureate program. It is open to all SEU undergraduates who meet the academic criteria, and no GRE or GMAT exam is required. To be eligible for the combined degree, students must achieve a 3.2 or higher grade point average.

Qualified students, after successfully completing their junior year, may apply to the Combined Degree Program. Once accepted, students take up to three designated graduate courses (9 credits), which can be applied as free electives toward the completion of their undergraduate program and/ or toward the 30-credit requirement for the Master of Science in management. This may enable the student to complete their master’s degree in fewer than 12-15 months. Taught from a leadership perspective, this experiential program prepares graduates to change or advance careers, compete in industry trends, and manage evolving organizational environments. Graduate students may choose from one of two specializations: human resources management or organizational change management.
