Post-Master's Professional Mental Health Counseling Certificate

The Saint Elizabeth University (SEU) Post-Master's in Professional Mental Health Certificate Program offers coursework for a total of 30 credits over the course of two academic years for professionals with Master's degrees in counseling psychology or a related field who wish to earn additional graduate credits to meet the educational requirements for the NJ License for Professional Counseling (LPC). The courses will be offered in both traditional classroom and hybrid formats. The program consists of counseling strategies/techniques, assessment, intervention, and cultural considerations in the domain of counseling psychology for the purpose of having the full 60 credits required to begin the application to become an LPC. Students who graduate from the certificate program will be equipped with the necessary coursework to apply for the LPC through the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Frequent feedback from course evaluations, fieldwork supervisor feedback and graduation surveys to monitor student and program satisfaction and student performance. Focus for the program is on enhancing students' abilities to be competent clinicians.
