Requirements for Track in Graduate Preparation for Master in Fine Arts (71-79 credits)

Requirements are all the courses in the general studio art track plus another 32-40 credits of studio art courses, both at SEU and at other colleges and universities. This program must be approved by the program chairperson and by your studio art mentor by the beginning of the first semester of your junior year.

Capstone Requirement

The capstone requirement consists of preparing a portfolio of the best artwork and passing a three-hour exam on modern and contemporary art history as determined by the professor each year. These requirements are part of the ART433 Senior Art Seminar. In addition, seniors hang 8-10 works in the gallery as part of a senior art exhibition, usually held during their last semester, which is also part of their senior seminar grade.
