B.A. in Education

Students must double major in education and in another discipline per SEU policy.

  • Early Childhood Education Concentration (P-3)
  • Elementary Education Concentration (K-6)
  • Elementary and Middle School Math OR Science Education Concentration (K-6 and 5-8 Math OR Science)

Minor in Secondary Education (The students major in an approved discipline which will lead to K-12 certification in that discipline.  NJ DOE approved disciplines are Art, English, Mathematics, Biological Science, Chemistry, Social Studies)

Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification (This is not a stand alone program. The program is three additional special education courses which when added to one of the concentrations and/or minor allows the student to be eligible for the additional TOSD endorsement (Teacher of Students with Disabilities).

 

Requirements for Admission to the Major/Minor

  •  An overall GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • Passing score on the appropriate Praxis Core Academic Skills for Education exam recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education (www.ets.org)

Capstone Requirement
